Zen Coaching Network
20 Year Anniversary Holiday-Retreat-Festival
18-24 August 2025
Welcome to this non-profit event to celebrate our Zen Coaching Community, explore and
harvest from our past and our present, and celebrate each one of us who have been part of co-
creating Zen Coaching since its start in 2005. Join this meaningful holiday in amazing nature,
build friendships and new connections, get inspired, deepen your Zen Coaching skills, connect with yourself, explore new tools, and much more!
Enjoy Zen Coaching workshops and related workshops, Yoga, meditations, mountain walks, live
music, swimming, boat trips in the lake, exercise, play, inquiry and coaching practice, dancing,
trampoline jumping, sharing, time to just hang out together, and anything else we want to co-create.
We are expecting somewhere between 60-120 participants for this event – or maybe more!
Kåre and Senior Coaches will offer workshops daily, and everyone else can also contribute. You
are welcome to bring an intimate partner who is interested in Zen Coaching. Children are also
welcome. Some of the program, such as part of the morning meeting, will be only for ages 11
and above, in order to create time also for quiet and focused group energy.
Welcome to this unique, heart-opening and community building gathering in the most beautiful Norwegian mountains!
A Celebration of Life and our Zen Coaching Community
2025 is the 20 year anniversary for Zen Coaching and our Zen Coaching Community! We have grown a
lot since the modest start with 7 participants in the first Zen Coaching Training, which lasted three
times three days. Now we have offered the full training 30 times in five countries (Sweden, Norway,
Poland, Denmark and South Africa), more than 800 people from more than 25 countries have
completed the full training, and the Zen Coaching Community keeps growing year by year. Tens of
thousands of people have been positively impacted by Zen Coaching over the last two decades, and
each of us in the network are contributing our part.
The purpose of this event is for us to meet, connect, learn, grow, enjoy nature, and celebrate Zen
Coaching, each other and our Community, in a way which is fun, deep, beautiful and nourishing for all
of us, and that will also help build and strengthen our community.
This event is also a way to recognize and celebrate the essence of Zen Coaching, the history of Zen
Coaching, and all that is going on today, and to see and celebrate all the people who have been and still
are engaged in different ways to help create Zen Coaching into what it is today.
A Not-for Profit and Co-Created Event
This will be a not-for-profit event, where the cost is kept as low as possible and will only cover direct
expenses. Nobody will make any money on this event. The idea is that we have a shared responsibility
for this event, that we are all leaders and co-creators of the event. Still Kåre, as the initiator of the
gathering, is taking the overall co-ordinating role for the event, and Senior Coaches will be offering daily
workshops. All participants are invited to offer their own activities and workshops, which will be
decided on a daily basis.
Where is it Happening, and How to Travel There?
This event will take place at Nøsen Yoga and Mountain Hotel. See www.nosenyoga.no. It is an amazing
Yoga Center owned by Alexander Medin, who I know well. They have many different kinds of retreats,
trainings and festivals, mainly Yoga related. They also work with some very inspiring social action
programs such as ‘Gangster Yoga’ and ‘Back in the Ring’, a project to help ex-prisoners get back to
normal life, including taking people to work in the slums of India and doing a Yoga retreat there.
The center is located 3.5 hours north of Oslo by car, and can also be reached by bus and train. Here is
the google maps location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/72g48wBCPw1wRQxT7
We can organise co-travel in different ways, such as renting a bus to take a group directly from Oslo,
and have shared riding in private cars. Also you can reach there by bus and train, with pick-up from the
station.
The Center is a located in the Gol mountain area, with a big lake just a 10 minute walk away. The center
is big with great rooms, great workshop spaces, a nice hangout area, and tasty and healthy vegetarian
food.
Who Can Come?
Anyone who has completed the four modules of the Zen Coaching Training are warmly welcome, as
well as those who are in the process of doing the full training. You do not need to have been active with
Zen Coaching during the last years to join. You are also welcome to bring an intimate partner, if he or
she is open, curious and interested in Zen Coaching.
Children are also welcome. However, the event will not organise special activities for children, so
parents must take full responsibility for the children, and co-create activities for them. Some workshops
and parts of the morning gatherings will be reserved for adults and older children, to also give space for
silent and focused time together.
Accommodation
You can choose between different room options: single room, room with double bed (for couples),
room with two beds or 4-6 beds, and tenting / camper van. The rooms are of a good standard, many of
them with their own bathrooms. Room options are on a first come, first serve basis.
Tentative Program
Details will be co-created during the event. Some days we may do a longer mountain trip all together,
or create other longer, shared activities. Kåre and Senior Coaches will be offering workshops on
different topics daily. As a participant you are also invited to offer workshops and activities.
